Talk Back

The regional theatre I work at is an affiliate with my university and there is one play a season that they have my university sponsor, and it happens to be the play that I wrote all those articles for. It’s a two person play, called “The Four of Us” by Itamar Moses. It’s not a great read but seeing it live on stage was unbelievable. The two actors, Bhavesh Patel and Jed Orlemann were fantastic.

Well, because my university sponsored the play, the actors and the artistic director came to campus for a talk back and my friend and I were the only two students who showed up. I was sad because they were expecting almost 50 people to show up and participate, but at the same time it was amazing because it was just us two, 3 professors and the actors. We just sat in a circle and talked about the play and what some of their favorite roles were. It was just so amazing. My friend and I were almost in a daze. We both love theatre and here are two actors who have been in movies, tv, Broadway and they came HERE. It was awesome to get advice from them and insight into the professional theatre world. I think they didn’t mind the intimacy of just 5 people in the audience because they were able to focus on one thing at a time. They told us that we need to go back and watch the play again so I think we’re definitely going to do that.

That’s my little bit lol, I just wanted to share.

One Comment so far...

While it is sad that you 2 were the only ones that showed up, how awesome is it that you got to talk to them like that.

I bet it was amazing! :)

My name is Emily and I'm 23 years old living in Massachusetts. I currently am an unemployed college graduate. I absolutely love baseball, and the Boston Red Sox, and Josh Beckett. I also am fascinated with weather, which most people find odd. I love photography and Bob Dylan too. I hope to one day conquer the world with my writing. But we'll see.
